A Peaceful and Calm Morning Routine for Productive Moms
First stop @ 0600: Wake-Up Junction (Get out of bed)
This is the hardest for me, I'm so tired all the time. But set your alarm for the same time every day and resist that snooze button temptation. Consistency is key, and waking up at the same time helps regulate your body clock and sets a positive tone for the day ahead. I am just working on doing this on the weekdays and maybe in the future I will do it on weekends too. I know it’s good for your body to wake up at the same time regardless of the day but I love to sleep in!
Second stop @ 0605: Suds Central Station (Put on a laundry load)
Just like loading passengers onto a train, toss a load of laundry into the machine before you do anything else. This way, it can chug along while you focus on other tasks. I have this as the first stop because I actually like this job so I think it will motivate me to get out of bed!
Third stop @ 0608: Java Junction (Get a cup of coffee)
Designate a cozy corner in your kitchen as your coffee station, complete with all your supplies. Whether it's a French press, a pour-over, or a trusty coffeemaker, make sure it's easily accessible and ready to go. Take a moment to savor the aroma and enjoy a few peaceful sips before moving on to the next station.
Fourth Stop @ 0610: Plate Purgatory (Unload the dishwasher)
Unload any clean dishes from the night before and put them away. This small task keeps your kitchen tidy and ensures you have clean dishes ready for the day ahead and a space to load those dishes that get dirty during the day.
Fifth Stop @0630: Refreshment Depot (Get dressed and cleaned up)
Head straight to the bathroom for a refreshing pit stop. Brush those pearly whites, splash some water on your face, and get ready to tackle the day.
Sixth Stop @0640: Tranquil Thoughts Terminal (Get some journaling done)
Take a few moments for yourself before diving into the hustle and bustle. Practice meditation, journaling, “morning pages”, devotional study or simply sit in silence to center your mind and set your intentions for the day. I have a free coloring page morning affirmation to download to get you started!
Seventh Stop @0700: Task Express (Write your to do list)
Now that you're energized and focused, it's time to tackle your to-do list. Whether it's work, errands, or personal projects, approach them with the same efficiency and determination as a train on its route.
By organizing your morning routine like a train with your own scheduled stops, you'll create a smoother and more enjoyable journey. It has really helped me to set reminders on my phone for every stop, not just an alarm to get up in the morning. I have to remind myself - consistency and intentionality are key. So, hop aboard the Morning Express and make your mornings peaceful! All aboard! 🚂✨
